I can give you 1 good reason why Nielsen doesn’t report first-party data from CR or HIDIVE in their reporting, it’s likely because the platforms have not paid Nielsen to be included in their data measurement reporting. Pay to play, so to speak. Besides, Nielsen data hasn’t been reliable since the introduction of video on demand. Their business is tied to networks that have paid programming (helloooo LifeLock!) & direct advertising (helloooo Jacuzzi!). Instead, other data measurement sources such as Rentrak, Comscore, Antenna, & iSpot have reported anime programming & content measurement data from streaming & VOD which are not following the same business model set by Nielsen (because it’s obsolete).

Variety needs to broaden their reporting scope as well. Relying on just Nielsen data is just absurd.
